Hi, everyone, and welcome back to the Be Still With Bobbi podcast! I can hardly believe it, but today we’ve arrived at the final episode in this 6-part journaling series.
I’m excited for today’s episode for multiple reasons. First, I believe this episode fully illustrates the benefits of using this practice of stillness, journaling, and prayer in our daily lives.
And second, this episode feels personally special to me. This happens to be the 31st episode of the Be Still With Bobbi podcast, and today is the 31st of January, which, coincidentally also happens to be my birthday. Not my 31st birthday. But my birthday nonetheless.
If you’ve been following along from the beginning—starting with Episode 26—thank you. Truly. It has been such an honor to walk through these reflections with you.
And if you’re just joining us now, I encourage you to go back and listen to the first five episodes in this series. Each one builds on the last, and today’s conversation will feel even more powerful when you’ve walked through the full set of journaling prompts in order.
Over the past five weeks, we’ve explored so much—taking inventory of our lives, re-examining our self-perception, crafting a God-inspired vision, navigating external influences, and learning the art of surrendering while still taking inspired action.
Today, as we close out this series, we’re shifting into what I like to call visionary living.
What does that mean? Visionary living is the difference between waking up every day and simply reacting to whatever comes your way—versus stepping into each day with clarity, intention, and purpose. It means that in every area of your life, you’ve taken the time to create a vision for what you actually want it to look like, and then you move toward that vision one small step at a time.
It doesn’t mean you expect life to be perfect—but it does mean that you’re choosing to live on purpose.
Most of society is running on autopilot. We’ve been conditioned to believe that life is a grind—wake up, check the boxes, handle responsibilities, rinse, and repeat. We get caught in the cycle of hustling through the day, stressing about the future, and feeling like there’s never enough time to pause, reflect, or even ask what we actually want.
But I’ve learned something powerful: there’s a much lighter, more fulfilling way to live.
When you embrace visionary living, you start noticing when something feels out of alignment, and you give yourself permission to pivot. You move through your days with more internal direction because you’ve already clarified the life you want to create. Not in a rigid way—but in a way that is fluid, adaptable, and fully co-created with God.
This approach is freeing because it removes the pressure of needing to have every step figured out. Instead, it allows you to trust that God is working on your behalf—handling both the big things and the small details—so you can simply focus on what’s right in front of you today.
And here’s what’s incredible: When you live this way, you start to see God’s hand in your life multiple times a week. Your gratitude deepens. Your hope expands. You begin to experience your life as an ongoing conversation with God—one where He is leading, and you are walking in trust. It eliminates excessive worry, because you know God is with you.
And that’s what today’s episode is all about. We’re going to explore how to integrate your vision into your daily life so it doesn’t just stay a dream in your journal, but becomes something you actively live into every day. We’ll talk about how to allow growth and expansion, and how to remain grounded in purpose—no matter what season of life you’re in.
Because the reality is, we all want a roadmap. And this is as close to a roadmap as we’re going to get. Not because it gives us every step in advance, but because it keeps us anchored in the present moment, resting in God’s guidance instead of chasing the next thing on the to-do list.
This isn’t just something I practice for ten minutes a day. This is a way of life.
So, grab your journal, take a deep breath, and let’s dive in.
One of the most important things about living in a visionary way is that you are constantly engaging with your vision, allowing it to evolve, expand, and shift as you grow. You’re not just setting a goal and walking away from it—you’re stepping into a living, breathing process that unfolds over time.
And the best way I know to keep your vision alive is through journaling.
For me, my journal is the keeper of my vision. It holds every iteration, every dream, every thought, and every shift in direction. It’s where I lay out what I know right now, but it’s also where I return to see what I couldn’t see before.
Because here’s the thing: our brains are limited in what they can process all at once. When we hold everything inside, our thoughts just swirl around—like a traffic jam of ideas that never get to move forward. But the moment you write something down, it shifts. The idea suddenly becomes tangible. It’s real. You’ve pulled it out of the traffic jam in your mind and given it space to breathe on the open road.
And what’s even more incredible? When you string together weeks, months, or even years of journaling, you start to see patterns. You’ll notice:
So when I have a new vision—whether it’s something small, like redecorating a room, or something big, like changing careers—I start with my journal. And I begin with the basics of what I know today.
Let’s say I’ve been dreaming about going back to school for years. But I haven’t taken the leap yet. Instead of getting overwhelmed by logistics and looking at all the options, I sit down with my journal and paint a picture of my vision.
I ask myself questions like:
I write all of this down, not because I expect it to happen exactly as I’ve imagined, but because this clarifies what I actually want.
Then—I I close my journal for the day and let it go.
I hand off that first iteration of a vision to God and continue living my life. But now, I’m paying closer attention to what unfolds around me.
And something incredible happens when I do this.
Maybe, for the first time, I notice a billboard for a university I’ve never even considered. Maybe a friend randomly brings up a conversation about someone she knows who just finished a degree in the exact field I’ve been thinking about. Maybe a podcast I’m listening to features someone who went back to school later in life, and her story sparks something in me.
These aren’t coincidences. They’re divine breadcrumbs.
Each new realization, conversation, or unexpected sign becomes part of the unfolding vision—and I go back to my journal to capture these moments. These clues help clarify the vision even further.
I write down what I’m noticing, how it makes me feel, and whether it’s confirming or redirecting the vision.
Because here’s the thing: visionary living isn’t rigid. It’s not about setting a vision in stone and forcing it to happen. It’s about walking through life with eyes wide open, staying curious, and allowing your vision to evolve as God reveals the next steps.
Most people live life reactively—just handling responsibilities, checking off to-do lists, and grinding through the day. But when you live in a visionary way, you move with purpose. You co-create with God, staying open to new possibilities while letting Him handle the details.
And here’s what I’ve discovered: writing things down frees me to be more present.
I’m not carrying all my thoughts, fears, and dreams in my head. I’ve given them a place to live—a sacred space in my journal.
And because of that, I trust that God is taking my words, my hopes, my questions—and weaving them into something more beautiful than I could ever imagine.
That’s the co-creation part. That’s why visionary living is a way of life—not a one-time task.
It’s not about using your journal as a wish list so God can be a vending machine for your dreams. It’s about vulnerably sharing your heart with the One who created you. The One who placed these desires within you to begin with. The One who wants to see you living full out.
So, as you think about your own vision—whatever that might be—here are some journaling prompts to get you started:
Remember: you’re not required to do any of it just because you wrote it down. This is a process of discovery, clarity, and allowing your soul to speak.
Keep your eyes open. Stay curious. Write it down. And let God handle the rest.
One of the biggest misconceptions about vision is that once we’ve clarified it, it remains static. But the truth is, vision is alive. It grows and shifts as we do.
Think about the dreams and goals you had 10 years ago. Are they the same ones you have today? Probably not. Some of them might have evolved into something bigger, while others may have faded as new desires took their place.
And that’s normal. It’s a sign that you’re learning, growing, and becoming more aligned with the purpose God has for you.
The key is to stay connected to your vision—not just as a lofty dream for “someday,” but as something you’re intentionally living into every single day.
Here’s how you do that: Revisit your vision often, Anchor it into your daily routines, and leave room for expansion.
Your vision isn’t a one-time revelation—it’s a relationship. It’s something you return to regularly, refining and deepening your understanding of it. Make it a habit to review your journal, reflect on your progress, and ask God to show you what needs to be adjusted.
Your vision also isn’t just about big, sweeping changes. It’s in the small, daily choices. The way you show up in conversations. The things you prioritize in your schedule. The way you nurture your faith.
For instance, If your vision includes more peace, how can you intentionally create moments of stillness each day? If your vision includes more meaningful relationships, what’s one simple way you can cultivate connection? Or if your vision includes stepping into a new career or calling, what’s one small action you can take this week?
Be sure to leave room for expansion.
Sometimes, we hold so tightly to the original version of our vision that we don’t allow it to evolve.
But God is constantly revealing new layers, new possibilities, and new directions we may not have considered.
What if your vision is bigger than you originally thought? What if God is preparing you for something beyond what you can see right now?
This is why it’s so important to keep your hands open—to be willing to receive new insights, new opportunities, and even new dreams.
Let’s journal about this.
Journaling Prompts for Living & Expanding Your Vision:
One thing I’ve learned, both in my own life and in working with clients, is that the first version of a vision is often just the surface layer—a logical, structured idea that makes sense on paper. But when we sit with it long enough, when we journal through the possibilities and allow curiosity to take over, we start to uncover the deepest, truest version of what we actually desire.
I see this happen all the time in my coaching sessions. Let’s say I’m working with someone who wants to start a massage therapy business. In the beginning, they’ll sketch out a very logical vision—how many clients they need, what kind of pricing makes sense, whether they should work in a commercial space or travel to clients’ homes. They’ll talk about marketing strategies, websites, and social media—all important, practical elements.
But underneath all that logic, there’s a bigger, more authentic version of their vision waiting to be revealed.
When I start asking deeper questions—”What kind of experience do you want your clients to have?” or “If there were no limits, what would your dream practice look like?”— that’s when something shifts. Their voice changes, their energy lifts, and suddenly they’re talking about a healing sanctuary with multiple rooms, grounding mats, aromatherapy, a space where clients don’t just receive a massage, but a full, immersive experience of rest and renewal.
And this version of the vision? It flows out effortlessly. There’s no second-guessing. No hesitancy. Because deep down, they already know what they want—they just needed permission to dream past what seems “practical” or “realistic.”
The first iteration of your vision is just a starting point. It’s the doorway. But to step into a life that’s fully aligned with your God-given purpose, you have to keep pressing in, keep asking questions, keep listening for what’s stirring inside of you—and then dare to believe that God placed those desires in you for a reason.
This is where so many people get stuck. They assume they have to start small, play it safe, or follow a logical roadmap that others have walked before them—but God’s best for you isn’t found in playing small.
Instead of settling for the most predictable version of your dream, what if you started with the biggest, boldest, most alive version? What if you let God handle the steps and trusted that His plan is far more expansive than what makes sense in your human mind?
Your most aligned, authentic vision is never buried in doubt or limitation. It’s found in the place where your deepest joy meets God’s infinite possibility.
Once you’ve landed on the truest version of your vision, it’s time to start walking in that direction—and trusting God to guide the way.
But how do you know if you’re actually on the right path?
For me, I pay attention to divine clues. I think of them as green lights and roadblocks.
I used to see roadblocks as frustrating setbacks, but now I trust them as God’s way of redirecting me toward something even better.
And I remind myself in those moments of disappointment or confusion, “If not this, something better.”
This has become my motto for life. Because every time I’ve faced a roadblock—whether it was a job I didn’t get, a house that fell through, or a relationship that ended—it wasn’t because I had failed. It was because God had something else waiting for me. Something I couldn’t have planned for, but was exactly what I needed.
So when you’re walking out your vision, journaling through the steps, and taking inspired action, ask yourself:
The key is to move through life with open hands. You don’t have to force things to happen. You don’t have to wrestle with God to get your way. You simply have to pay attention, stay curious, and trust that if you keep showing up in faith, God will make the way clear.
Your only job is to keep following the divine breadcrumbs. One step at a time.
Because the real beauty of visionary living isn’t in arriving at some final destination—it’s in learning to walk in partnership with God, every single day.
I have one more piece of this stillness practice that I’d like to speak to before we wrap up. It’s the idea that there is purpose in every season. Even the hardest ones.
If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s this: Purpose isn’t something we “arrive at.” It’s something we live into—season by season, step by step, and sometimes, even in the waiting.
There will be seasons when you feel fully aligned—when everything is flowing and you can see the pieces coming together. And there will be seasons when things feel unclear—when you’re in a transition, waiting for the next step, or navigating unexpected changes.
Both seasons are part of the journey.
The key is to stay grounded in your purpose regardless of whether you can see the full picture. And when I say the word “purpose,” it simply means you’re walking out your days in this visionary way. Connected to yourself and to God and continuing to trust that God is with you and the best is yet to come.
Because God is always working—even in the quiet, even in the uncertainty, even in the not yet.
Here are three ways to stay connected to your purpose through every season of life:
Now, let’s reflect with some journaling prompts for staying grounded in purpose.
As we close out this journaling series, I want you to take a moment to visualize.
Imagine yourself standing at the beginning of this year—before you walked through these journaling prompts, before you gained this new clarity.
Now, picture yourself today—more aware, more in tune with your desires, more connected to God’s vision for your life.
See how much you’ve grown.
Now, imagine yourself one year from now. Living into your vision. Fully aligned. Confident in your purpose.
What does that feel like?
Take a deep breath, and know that you are already on the path. Listening to this 6-part series was your first step. You can revisit these episodes as often as you like as you further explore the vision for your year.
Okay. That’s it, my friends. The final episode in our 6-part journaling series.
I hope this series has given you not just clarity, but confidence—that your vision, your dreams, and your purpose are worth pursuing.
If you’re craving more support, I’d love for you to join The Be Still Collective. It’s a space where we continue these conversations, grow together, and encourage one another in faith and purpose. You can find out more at bestillwithbobbi.com/community. Make sure you add yourself to the waiting list as new memberships will be available next week!
In addition to the Be Still Collective, I’m also announcing something new – Private Coaching with Me.
I know that stepping into something new—whether it’s a journaling practice, a stillness routine, or even beginning to craft a vision for your life—can feel overwhelming. And for some women, a group setting may not feel like the right fit just yet.
So, for the first time in a long time, I’m opening five private coaching spots for a 90-day one-on-one experience.
This is for the woman who feels the pull toward stillness but doesn’t quite know how to start. It’s for the woman who has a vision for her life but feels unsure about the steps ahead. It’s for the woman who wants guidance, encouragement, and a personalized, private space to explore what’s next.
Here’s what this looks like:
This is an intimate, deeply personal experience. And if you’ve been wanting to work with me, but a group didn’t feel quite right, this is your chance to receive one-on-one coaching in a way that fits exactly what you need.
And here’s something I want you to really think about:
We’ll be meeting one-on-one for the months of February, March, and April, which means by the time summer rolls around, you could be stepping into the next season of your life feeling clearer, lighter, and more on purpose than ever before.
Imagine waking up on a warm June morning and feeling at peace—more deeply connected to yourself and to God. Imagine knowing exactly what you want this next season to look like, because you’ve already spent three months laying the foundation for it.
If your heart just did a little leap, or if something in you is saying “I need this”—I want to invite you to reach out. These five spots will go quickly, so if this feels like the right next step for you, send me a message or visit the coaching page on my website by going to [bestillwithbobbi.com/1-on-1-coaching] to learn more.
I’d love to walk with you, encourage you, and help you create something that truly lights you up from the inside out.
One final thought before I sign off.
If you take nothing else from this episode, take this: Visionary living is not about striving—it’s about seeing. Seeing your life, your future, and your relationship with God through a lens of possibility.
And it all starts with the simple act of putting pen to paper.
Because when you do? You’ll be amazed at what begins to unfold.
Thank you for being here. Thank you for saying yes to this to taking this journey with me.
Until next time, may you find peace, clarity, and courage in your stillness.
Bye for now!
